Physicians EHR Inc. is a woman-owned, woman-operated business with a healthcare publishing history that speaks to the trust the company has developed with healthcare provider organizations. Our opinions and survey results are sought by national HIT and compliance organizations as well as numerous medical societies. Physicians EHR is the content developer, team leader and co-author of more than 10 books, video courses and booklets for the American Medical Association's line of HIPAA books and co-authored the HIPAA Security Kit for the American Dental Association. The company advises physicians nationwide on planning for consumer driven health care, patient communication strategies, electronic medical records, electronic health records and personal health records, along with Privacy and Security implementation strategies.
Physicians are turning to us again for advice on strategic and layered adoption of electronic health records.

Carolyn P. Hartley, President, CEOCarolyn P. Hartley serves as provider/clinic advocate, managing the EHR implementation process. She and her EHR project management team oversee the complex paper to paperless migration for clinics in 17 states, and also serve as EHR technical advisor to national and state medical societies and quality improvement organizations. She also served on the Technical Advisory Panel for the Health Information Security and Privacy Collaborative (HISPC), funded by the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC). Carolyn readily shares her implementation knowledge in day-to-day EHR projects with audiences, and in publications. She is co-author of 15 textbooks published by the American Medical Association, the American Dental Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Gastroenterological Association on HIPAA Privacy, Security, and EHR Implementation. She is a recipient of the distinguished Silver Anvil award for communications and Leadership award from the Points of Light Foundation. She holds a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Baker University with an emphasis in medical anthropology. |

Laurie O’Brien, CPEHR, VP OperationsLaurie O’Brien joined the Physicians EHR team in January of 2006. Prior to expanding her career into healthcare, Laurie was an account executive and agency team leader, managing advertising and strategic marketing communications for several national learning academies. She has an extensive background in public relations, strategic market planning, media planning, creative development, and interactive marketing. As a former high school English teacher, she also brings polish, accuracy and contagious enthusiasm to each Physicians EHR client. Laurie is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. |

Marguerite Stout, Project CoordinatorPhysicians EHR welcomed Marguerite Stout to their team in April 2009. As Project Coordinator, Marguerite oversees the day-to-day activities for multiple client accounts, as well as managing and promoting the company’s EHR educational events, including webinar sessions and online communications. |
Kenneth L. “Marty” Martin, MEM, Senior EHR/CPOE Project ManagerMarty Martin has been a successful leader and consultant in the EHR arena for almost a decade. His roles have included Project Lead or Senior EHR/CPOE implementation consultant on many multi-million dollar healthcare IT projects. With an extremely diverse background, Marty has lead all aspects of large EHR projects, including project initiation, vendor assessment/selection, training, implementation, and clinical/medical staff support. Marty has been a speaker at several healthcare IT conferences and local HIMSS chapters. His presentations typically focus on strategies for change management, communication, training, improving the IT adoption rate of medical and clinical staff, and extracting measureable ROI on healthcare IT investments. |
